Device registration guide
To sign documents, you need to register a device with hardware verification. Not every device is suitable — it depends on the type, operating system, browser, and settings. This page will help you determine whether your device is compatible.

Supported devices
Android mobile phone
Not every Android phone is suitable.
Registration requires hardware attestation — verification by the phone's security chip. This feature must be supported by the phone's hardware, browser, and operating system.
Requirements:
- Android 7.0 or newer
- Google Chrome browser (recommended) or Microsoft Edge
- Configured biometrics (fingerprint or face recognition), gesture, or device PIN
- Working Google Play Services
Phones that will NOT work:
- Rooted phones — a modified system will not pass the integrity check (verified boot)
- Phones without Google services — e.g., Huawei with HMS instead of GMS, phones with alternative ROMs (LineageOS, etc.)
- Older or very low-cost phones — some lack the security chip required for hardware attestation
- Browsers other than Chrome/Edge — Firefox, Samsung Internet, Opera, and other browsers may not support hardware attestation
How to tell if your phone is suitable:
- You have a screen lock set up on your phone (fingerprint, face, gesture, or PIN)
- You are using the Chrome browser
- The phone is not rooted (modified system)
- You have a working Google Play Store and Google Play Services
How to register:
- On your computer, go to profile settings and click 'Generate registration link'
- Scan the displayed QR code with your mobile phone
- On your phone, click 'Register this device'
- Confirm with your fingerprint, face, gesture, or PIN
Tip: If you are on your phone directly, you do not need to scan a QR code. Choose 'Direct registration' and confirm.
Hardware security key
Not every security key is suitable.
The key must be FIDO2 certified and registered in the FIDO Alliance Metadata Service (MDS) database. Older keys with only U2F support may not work.
Examples of supported keys:
- YubiKey 5 Series, YubiKey Bio
- Google Titan Security Key
- Other FIDO2 certified keys registered in the FIDO Alliance MDS
Keys that will NOT work:
- Older keys with U2F only — do not support the required attestation format
- Unknown or uncertified keys — the key must be in the FIDO Alliance database, otherwise the system will not accept it
- Keys with revoked certification — if the manufacturer has revoked the certification, the key will not be accepted
How to register:
- Connect the security key to your computer via USB
- In profile settings, click 'Register device' (direct registration)
- In the browser dialog, select the security key
- Confirm by touching the button on the key or entering a PIN
Tip: Hardware keys offer the highest level of security. They are suitable for users who sign important documents.
Devices and configurations that are not supported
- iPhone / iPad — Apple devices currently do not provide the hardware attestation required for registration
- Password managers (Google Password Manager, 1Password, iCloud Keychain) — they do not have a hardware certificate, even if they offer passkey registration
- Windows Hello — only if the computer does not have a supported security chip (TPM)
- macOS Touch ID / Face ID — does not provide the required hardware attestation
- Rooted Android phones — a modified system will not pass the integrity check
- Android without Google Play Services — e.g., Huawei with HMS, LineageOS, and other alternative ROMs
- Firefox, Samsung Internet, Opera browsers on Android — may not support hardware attestation, we recommend Chrome
Troubleshooting registration issues
Registration failed
Try the following:
- Make sure you are using a supported device (see list above)
- Use the Google Chrome browser — it has the best support
- Select the correct option in the browser dialog: The browser may offer multiple confirmation options. If the first option does not work, cancel the dialog and try registering again. In the dialog, select a different option — for example, instead of 'This computer', choose 'Security key' or vice versa.
- Make sure you have a screen lock set up on your phone and working Google Play Services
- If you are using a QR code, make sure Bluetooth is turned on on your computer
Error message 'This device is not supported'
This message means the device did not provide hardware verification. Most common causes:
- The browser used a password manager instead of phone hardware — try registering again and select a different option in the dialog
- iPhone/iPad do not support the required type of verification
- The security key is not FIDO2 certified or is not in the FIDO Alliance database
- The phone is rooted or does not have Google Play Services
- You are using a browser that does not support hardware attestation (try Chrome)
